Double Weaved Hard Shell Shade Hat Large Fit Wide Brim Straw Hat Tan

I love it! I’m extremely pale, and need coverage from sun. I’ve already got regular hats. They work okay, but always run short on full coverage. This hat does not. It’s big, like a sombrero. But not as silly looking… well, maybe half as silly looking. But the body is sturdy, the cap has vent holes and there’s a wide elastic band for your forehead. I have a lot of hair, and tend to wear it up on top of my head. If I use an alligator clip, it doesn’t fit in the hat because of the divot in the center of the cap. It fits just fine if I put my hair in braids or only pin it loose on top of my head. Plenty of room. And, I have a big, wide head. I usually have to buy men’s hats. This one fits well, and between the elastic brim and drawstring, I think it would fit just fine on a normal sized woman’s head as well. The straw is woven well. And there’s a nice long drawstring to anchor it with, or for hanging it up. Straw is naturally water repellent, to some extent. If I need it to be more repellent, I will spray it down with a repellent, and that should work fine. The brim slopes down so it provides shade and would be able to control water runoff. Also, FYI, not a hat for windy days. It’s basically a sail. Don’t do it.When the first hat I purchased arrived, it had defects on the brim. The piece of edging used to cover the rough edges had been sewn poorly and strings were loose or bunched. This was obviously a machine malfunction and it hadn’t been caught by quality control. But the owner returned my message immediately, by phone, and sent me a new replacement hat for free, and I didn’t have to return the first one. The second hat was perfect and no defects.
